Disease Overview
Itching associated with allergic conjunctivitis and BEPREVE
Itching associated with allergic conjunctivitis is characterized by inflammation of the conjunctiva due to an allergic reaction to substances such as pollen and dander.1
It is important to recognize that patients may suffer from either seasonal or perennial allergic conjunctivitis, thus appearance of symptoms at specific times of the year or year-round can help determine the specific type of ocular allergy.2
In diagnosing allergic conjunctivitis, the most critical clinical feature is itching, which may be accompanied by tearing, discharge, and reddening of the eyes.1
BEPREVE (bepotastine besilate ophthalmic solution) 1.5% is indicated for the treatment of itching associated with allergic conjunctivitis, and offers quick, lasting relief in a simple-to-use, twice-daily formulation.2

IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION: BEPREVE is for topical ophthalmic use only. To minimize risk of contamination, do not touch the dropper tip to any surface. Keep the bottle closed when not in use. BEPREVE should not be used to treat contact lensārelated irritation. Remove contact lenses prior to instillation of BEPREVE. The most common adverse reaction occurring in approximately 25% of patients was a mild taste following instillation. Other adverse reactions occurring in 2%-5% of patients were eye irritation, headache, and nasopharyngitis.
